Warm bright afternoon light on a snowy scene contrasted with those long blue tree shadows: this is one of those beautiful days that makes winter worth the cold weather and short days.
Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and sometimes finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

Yes I agree. Some people living in warmer climates don't understand how beautiful snow is when the sun shines and it does shine a lot! The world is brightest then than any other time of year. I live in the woods and you can see the rolling terrain for such a long way. Your painting captures the lovely blues that stretch across the snow. Very nice.
very nice Diana.
Reminds me of the Gros Ventre River in Jackson Hole
Beautiful Diana...although I'm looking forward to Spring! :)
marvelous! I feel like I've been there a million times
Thanks so much for dropping by, Gary, David, and Mary. I really enjoyed painting this little piece and living inside this scene with the bright colors for a couple of days while I worked on it.
And yes, I'm looking forward to spring, too!
Susan, it's so true. I am not originally from this northern location (and am really not a cold weather fan!) but the beauty of winter continues to inspire me.
Another beautiful pianting Diana, thanks for sharing:)
Thank you, Toyin. It's good to hear from you.
Beautiful. Making me miss our cabin (& Mtn.Springs!)more than ever.
Captured far better than a photograph the crisp & clear winter setting! Another beauty, Diana!
Love the blues, Diana. Beautiful painting with wonderful shadowing.
Thanks so much for dropping by, Cassie, Dave and Hilda. Here's hoping for some more of that bright sunshine soon!
