Group member Mary Maxam picked our Challenge subject this month and asked us to interpret "shopping" any way we wanted.

Although several ideas
presented themselves to me, and I set up a still life to explore one
plan, nothing really clicked until this idea formed.
These expressive legos jumped in to save the day and transformed my idea for Challenge from ho-hum to fun. Perhaps they had been missing the opportunity to take part as they did for my Challenge paintings in 2009.
The other members participating this month surprised and delighted me with their interpretations of our theme. I love them all!

I absolutely love this Diana! It draws me in to the play of shopping and your perfectly painted legos are a joy!
Thank you, Mary. I had fun with this one after I let loose a bit! Thanks for the subject idea this month. It really pushed me.
"Lego of my Eggo!" - Remember that commercial?
Good fun, Diana.
exactly how I feel if trapped into going shopping! Ahhh, the life of an artist...you have permission to wear all sorts of old paint stained clothes! Can't imagine having to 'dress' every day!
Thank you both so much for dropping by. It looks like we all had fun with this Challenge.
I'll have to look that one up, Mark. I haven't watched much television in years!
Yes, Vicki, it wears me out walking on those concrete floors for very long. I do miss seeing people dress up to go out, however. It's just gross seeing people in their sweats and pj's in the market place!
I would love to see a return to style and class in public. It has become the norm for folks to wear blue jeans and t-shirts and other sloppy looking clothing ANYWHERE, even to the ballet or symphony. WHAT happened?!
