Oil on hardboard
©2010 Diana Moses Botkin
I just finished this piece for an upcoming exhibition.
It is based on the some smaller studies and a charcoal sketch.
Welcome to my Art Blog! I paint or draw most weekdays and sometimes finish a painting a day. I fondly call them my "Postcards from Paradise" because it's such a beautiful place the Lord made here for us.

Love the intense blue and the rich mood of this painting.
I'm happy to know those features are reading well. Thank you for dropping by.
Your point of view is so interesting! You've done a great job on all aspects, but you've really captured my attention with the way you've composed your painting!
Thanks, Helen. I've been thinking a lot about how to simplify for greater impact; the figure works better for me than landscapes for trying out some ideas.
Diana, this is sensational! I saw a peacock on my walk this morning whose neck was that same gorgeous blue.
Oh how fun, Silvina; I hope you'll paint that!
This is just beautiful! I love the quiet mood to the painting! Really like this! Thanks for sharing.
I really appreciate your kind comments, Julia. Thank you.
Wow, Diana! Hadn't seen this one. It's a departure from your lovely landscapes and I really like it. Gonna keep exploring the site and see what other surprises I find. Nice job!
Thank you, Juan. Portraits and figurative work are really my first love for subject matter, but you just never know what might catch my eye to paint. There are simply so many beautiful subjects in this amazing world the Lord made.
